Too big for normal size calves

I really love the boot, but the calves are too large. I ordered a 13 instead of a 12 because I thought it would run small which it was true to size. I wonder is it a slouch boot because although it looks pretty when initially on it slouches way down the calf. How do I correct this? Would returning and getting a size smaller help? Or do I take it to the shoemaker.

        Wow!

Really great, quality boot. No side zip. Not for wide calves. If you have high arches, this boot isn't easy to get on OR off. But hey, if looking good were easy, everyone would. If you have great legs, this boot is a must have!

          Barefoot Tess 'Vienna'

Hi. I ordered these boots in March, and have only just been able to wear them. They are absolutely beautiful. They strike me as a slouch boot, but they definitely look very good in the mirror. I am 5'10, with very thin legs, and I find that although the boots go above my knee, they stop about a half inch to an inch short of where I want them to stop. Also, since I have very thin legs, they fall right down as I walk. Fortunately, there is a little loop that was built into the boot on the back inside top. I was able to buy some black 1 inch elastic, thread it through the loop in a circle, making sure the size of the circle was such that it would be snug at a point just over my knees, and staple the elastic several times and put tape over the staples. Then, when I want to put them on, I put my foot into a boot, through the circle, and pull the boot on like I normally would, making sure the circle is ultimately above my knee caps. Then repeat with the next. This prevented the boots from falling. They still required caution, like I had to be sure the elastic was not sagging, but, all in all, I can wear them and feel good about them.Other than that they are comfortable, the heel height is just right, and they look darling.

            Tall Girl's Dream Boot

OMG! I'm so pleased with these boots, and my reasons are, #1 I'm tall 5'11 inches so finding boots that come to my knee is always a nightmare. These boots actually touch over the top of my knees. Scoreee. #2 The heel height, platforms, turned up toes, and clunky heels on shoes this season has soared to a height, then sunk to a level I refuse to spend money on. This woman wants shoes she can walk in, that are stylish, and not have a fear of a twisted ankle, standing up in cellar, or bumping her head on the door entry. This boots heel height is perfect to keep on your foot all day, and into the night. Talk about multi tasking, The only negative is, I wish the boot had a side zipper. Other then that, I'm looking forward to being in style, and chilly weather this year."

These are the ultimate in boots for over the knee and I am 6' tall with long legs. Best deal around!

                Nice but very wide calf

Nice boot, great look BUT The leg and the calf in way too large. I have to find a shoemaker to tight them.

                  AMAZING QUALITY

Beautiful, great quality boots, just make sure if your a half size to go up, you will definitely need to wear stockings or something thin to get in and out easily.

                    Style and comfort

I love love love these boots i was hesitant to buy them because i thought they looked cheap online but when i received them i was so happy with the quality of these boots. These boots looks good with dresses or skirts or over leggings. If u have huge calves like i do about 18 u probably wouldnt be able to fit them over jeans. They are however made for wider calves. I didnt have an issue getting them on like some of the other reviewers, my problem was getting them off. The heels are perfect height and can be transitioned from day into evening. You would be able to party in style and comfort. I will be wearing my boots to a friends birthday party at a club this weekend. My favorite boot purchase from tess thus far."

Finally a tall boot for thinner calves!

Beautiful boots. Suede feels soft and plush, fit is great (size 12), and calves are not huge! I may wear leg warmers with jeggings but with jeans the stay up fine. Small heel is just high enough for the right look without making me feel too tall. And, the price is right.

                        beautiful w a question tho

Bee yoo tee full! The suede is absolutely gorgeous on this boot! I immediately pulled out all of my knee length dresses that needed this boot as the perfect accessory. One question though, I guess depending on your calf and thigh size the boot will fit more like a slouch boot that comes slightly over the knee. I am a full figured woman, size 12 shoe (BTW, which fit comfortably)5'8 and 260 lbs of woman. The boot came over my knee as the shaft of the boot scrunched on my legs. Im not necessarily opposed to this, but the description doesnt include this option, you know "wear as a straight or a slouch" so I just wondered.Im going to take some pics and critique them and then decide if I am keeping them. Thanks for great options Barefoottess!!"

I am going to look STUNNING this fall

these boots just came in, I tried them on and couldn't stop staring at myself in the mirror! I absolutely love these boots, I just wish they had a zipper because slipping in and out is not very easy. I had to get my boyfriend to help me get them off but that's what they're there for! I love these boots alot, thanks!

Bootmakers, hear me roar. . .

These boots are gorgeous, easy to walk in, and fit my 17 calves and long legs perfectly. On the down-side, the insole is sort of scrunched up and uncomfortable; there's also a cheap, plastic-y lining on the inside cuff. . .and they squeak. But my #1 complaint: they are narrower around the top than at the widest part of the calf. As noted, they don't zip, so bootmakers: if you're going to make a pull-up OTK boot, DON'T MAKE THE KNEE CIRCUMFERENCE SMALLER THAN THE CALF!!! We still have to pull them up over our calves, so the narrower knee opening won't cut it. I've seen this before and don't know why bootmakers haven't figured it out. Fortunately these slide over my legs just fine, but anyone with larger than 17" calves might be cautious. All in all, this is the boot I've been waiting for!"
